About Nike

Nike started in 1964 under the name Blue Ribbon Sports, founded by Phil Knight and his coach, Bill Bowerman. Initially, the company acted as a reseller for Japanese Onitsuka Tiger, now known as ASICS. The name Nike came from Jeff Johnson, inspired by the Greek statue "The Victory of Samothrace". Their first shoe, the "Nike Waffle Trainer", was released in 1974 and was soon followed by the successful "Nike Swoosh" collection. In the 1980s, Nike exploded into prominence with the Air Jordan shoe line, thanks to a partnership with basketball legend Michael Jordan. In 1988, the "Just Do It" campaign established Nike as a leading force in athletic equipment. Today, Nike remains a global leader in athletic gear, renowned for the innovation, technology and style of its products. It is one of the most popular and recognizable brands, offering products that incorporate comfort, performance and modern design.
