It all started on July 1, 1924, when Adolf Dassler and his brother Rudolf decided to start a sports shoe business, the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory. In 1949, it was renamed adidas and then began to sponsor sports shoes for Olympic athletes. But the company took off in the 70s, when it launched the first Stan Smith, a pair inspired by the famous tennis player of the same name. The multiple successes then came on their own... The first Superstar basketball shoe was worn by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to great success, the new Trefoil logo was introduced by Muhammad Ali and the Copa Mundials came to be worn by the greatest football players around world! In its modern history, the company has launched its new brands, adidas Originals, adidas Performance, adidas Terrex, adidas Sportswear with top collaborations and is the No. 1 sports & lifestyle clothing, shoes and accessories manufacturing industry in Europe!
