Under Armour began in 1996 when Kevin Plank, the head coach of the University of Maryland's college football team, noticed the lack of practicality in the cotton training T-shirts that athletes wore as they collected sweat and added weight to their overall effort. He therefore focused on developing technologies that would keep athletes dry and focused by wicking sweat away from the body. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, since 1998, UA develops sportswear and footwear that aim to enhance athlete performance and with the motto Protect this House to inspire them to do everything for the team. UA first entered the footwear industry in 2006 with football boots, while in 2020 the brand's relationship with basketball was sealed thanks to the collaboration with Stephen Curry for the UA Curry collection inspired by the amazing career of the MVP of the American basketball championship. Since then, their construction has been renewed by incorporating the latest technologies in the Curry Under Armour basketball shoes that provide everyone with the opportunity to shine on the court and clothing that goes beyond the boundaries of the court and puts basketball rhythm in your every day.
